HIGH COMMISSION FOR PAKISTAN CANBERRA
(PRESS RELEASE TO SADA-E-WATAN SYDNEY)
1. To commemorate the
National Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony and a reception was held at
the Chancery premises at 0900 hours today. The ceremony was attended by a large
number of Pakistanis with their families and also by students studying in
various Universities in Canberra.
2. After flag hoisting, the messages of the President and the Prime Minister
were read out. The High Commissioner briefly highlighted the importance of the
day emphasizing to the community members to forge unity and work harder for
promoting Pakistan’s image abroad. He also gave perspective of the current
political situation in the country.
3. The Canberra Times also carried a supplement on Pakistan in its today’s
issue.
