Independence Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony at the Pakistan High Commission Wellington New Zealand
A simple and
dignified, flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Chancery to commemorate 65th
Independence Day. Significant number of Pakistanis living in Wellington and
adjoining towns attended the ceremony, despite Ramadan and stormy weather.
Pakistan High Commissioner H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, read out the messages of the
President and the Prime Minister for the occasions. The High Commissioner
thanked the Pakistani community for their generosity in helping their brethren
during the 2010 floods. He also briefed them on the recent developments in the
country.
