Flag Hoisting Ceremony on Independence Day at
Pakistan High Commission Canberra

On Thursday, 14th
August 2025, A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the High Commission for
Pakistan, Canberra to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of
Pakistan. The national flag was raised along with the rendition of National Anthem
of Pakistan. The messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan
were also read out to the audience.
The messages touched upon the significance of 14
August and rich tributes were paid to the founding fathers of Pakistan and
their vision for an independent, democratic, modern Muslim state. The nation’s
valour and unity was appreciated in the face of Indian aggression and the
success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos was especially highlighted and lauded.
In this context, a video on Marka-e-Haq was also played for the audience.
Ms. Faiza Haseeb, Charge d’Affaires, emphasized the
significance of this year’s Independence Day, which is not only a commemoration
of freedom, but also a celebration of resilience and pride. She extended her
felicitations to the Pakistani community in Australia and underscored the
importance of unity, preserving rich traditions, and continuing efforts to
enhance Pakistan’s image and progress in all fields.
A large number of Pakistani community members in
Australia attended the flag hoisting ceremony. In addition, Pakistani community
members residing in major cities across Australia also organised events to
celebrate the National Day. In this regard our Consulate in Sydney held an
event in the State Parliament of New South Vales in which prominent Pakistani
diaspora members, Ministers, Federal and State MPs, media fraternity and
intelligentsia participated.
