Urdu Society of Australia’s 15th International Annual Mushaira 2009 in Sydney

The Urdu Society of Australia organized its 15th International Annual Mushaira in Himalaya Restaurant Sydney on the evening of Friday 23rd October 2009. The Urdu Society of Australia’s Liteary Programe & International Poetry Recitals with Dinner was very successful and well attended by Indian/Pakistani Australian community. Mr. Sadiq Arif & Huma Mirza was MC of this great traditional Annual Mushaira. Local Poets/Poetesses including Kaneez Fatima, Nooshi Gillani, Farhat Iqbal, Huma Mirza, Om Krishan Rahat, Dr. Shabbir Haider, Arshad Saeed, Rehan Alavi, Sadiq Arif, Syed Nasim Haider, Zafar Islam, Ghulam Abbas Gillani, Tauqir Hassnain, Mohammed Ali Bukhari, Saeed Khan Recitals their poetry.

The Urdu Society of Australia this year invited Mr. Khalid Sharif from Lahore Pakistan & Prof. Sajida Zaidi from Aligrah India. Both names are top in the Poetry circle of India/Pakistan and on the International level both are well known in the Literary world. Mr. Khalid Sharif & Prof. Sajida Zaidi also published several books of poetry and has been the recipient of famous recognized Awards. Renowned Poets Mr. Khalid Sharif & Prof. Sajida Zaidi present their poetry and everyone enjoyed. The President Urdu Society of Australia Dr. Kausar Jamal thanks the community for their continuous Cooperation & Assistance. On the end of this unique programe, President Dr. Kausar Jamal Presents Nishan-e-Urdu to Prof. Sajida Zaidi & Mr. Khalid Sharif. The Urdu Society of Australia also present exclusive Awards to Huma Mirza and Rehan Alavi for appreciating their services to the Urdu Literature.
