Pakistan Association Hunter Valley has been formed. The formal announcement to the effect was made at their first inaugural dinner at Newcastle on Sunday the 23 October 2005.
The dinner was arranged to raise donations for the Pakistan earthquake victims. The President Pakistan Australia Association (PAA) Ejaz Khan, President Pakistan Medical Association Dr Wasti ,Federal Member for Newcastle Ms Sharon Greeson and NSW MP Jhon Mill, attended the fundraising dinner among others. Around $14000 was raised in the dinner for quake victims. It’s worth mentioning that the Pakistani women are the main force behind the newly formed body and there is no male office bearer. Mrs Hashmi and Mrs Rana are the President and General Secretary of the Pakistan Association Hunter Valley respectively.
