The President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, has arrived in Australia for a three-day visit, touching down in Canberra on a rainy night. President was received by official secretary to governor general of Australia, Malcolm Hazel. High ranking Australian officials, Pakistan's High Commission to Australia Babar Wahid Malik and Nomain Munir (Manager PIA Australia) were also present at the Canberra airport.
During the visit, President Musharraf will sign a memorandum of understanding with Australia on counter-terrorism. President Musharraf will also hold talks with Prime Minister Mr John Howard on a formal partnership between the Australian Securities and Investment Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. The two leaders will also discuss closer cooperation between their countries in the agriculture industry. President Musharraf will visit Canberra and Sydney.
