PPP Australia organised demonstration against Musharraf

   

Pakistan Peoples Party Australia organised a protest demonstration on Monday in front of parliament house in Canberra on the eve of arrival of President General Pervez Musharraf in Australia. The protesters displayed placards demanding restoration of democracy in Pakistan, release of PPP leaders and workers and withdrawal of what they said false and concocted cases against Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto, Senator Asif Ali Zardari and other PPP leaders and workers. Another protest was held in Sydney in front of Hotel International where President Musharraf was staying during his Australia visit. The demonstrators were holding banners, placards and Party and Pakistani flags.

The protesters demanded supremacy of parliament, end of army interference in politics, end of human rights violation, and withdrawal of cases against PPP leadership, free and fair elections and honourable return of Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan. President PPP Australia M Asif Khan, Chairman PPP Australia Hanif Muqaddam, General Secretary Prof. Ahmad Nawaz Awan, Senior vice president Akram Cheema, vice president Mohabbat Khan, Public relations secretary Raja Hameed, joint secretary Rao Wasim Asghar and information secretary Hassan Ashraf Chattha participated in the demonstration.
