Tasmania Vs Pakistan 3 day Tour Cricket Match Draw in Hobart Australia

The three-day tour Match between Pakistan and Tasmania  was played at Bellerive Oval, Hobart Tasmania Australia from Saturday 19 Dec- Mon 21 Dec 2009. The Match has ended in a draw with the two captains agreeing to call the game off at tea on Monday afternoon.

The offspinner Saeed Ajmal picked up four wickets and the Pakistanis' top order had another hit out before the three-tour game ended in a draw. On Saturday the tourists face Australia in the Boxing Day Test and they will head to Melbourne with some confidence after a strong hit-out against Tasmania in Hobart.

Tasmania were finished off for 193 before lunch on the third day, with Ajmal taking 4 for 84 in his 24 Overs. Ajmal is competing with Danish Kaneria, who did not play, as the No. 1 spinner in the squad and will be content with his performance, which included the wickets of Jason Krejza (23) and Brendan Drew (14).

Abdur Rauf, Mohammad Aamer and Imran Farhat all earned two wickets each, with Farhat's collection coming when he dismissed the tailenders Brett Geeves (33) and Tim Macdonald (5). The visitors earned a lead of 244 and moved to 4 for 141 before calling the game off early. Fresh from knocking up 437 in their first innings, thanks in no small part to 153 from opener Salman Butt and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal's 109, Pakistan ended the Tigers' first innings for only 193 on Monday morning. With a 244-run advantage Pakistan decided against enforcing the follow-on, preferring further batting practice ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the MCG to the chance of a result and extra preparation for its bowlers as it reached 3-144 when the end came.

Promoted from first drop, Faisal Iqbal grafted his way to 12 not out from 84 balls while his fellow opener Imran Farhat contributed 40 before retiring to give a team-mate some time in the middle and Umar Akmal crashed 55 from 50 balls with eight fours. Pakistan Cricket Team performance was highly appreciated by Australian crowed.
