Advisor of Pakistani Prime Minister appreciated John Howard

 
Advisor to the Pakistani Prime Minister on Women Affairs, Nilofar Bakhtiar appreciated the bold stand of Australian Prime Minister to support Muslim girls for wearing headscarves in the schools.

In her message to Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, she said his decision had upheld the people’s right to choose and freedom guaranteed by the UN Charter of Human Rights. “This decision re-affirms our faith in democratic values and inter-faith harmony,” she added. In a statement, Australian Prime Minister John Howard said he did not support a proposal to ban Muslim girls from wearing headscarves in public schools. The proposal by Liberal Party members Bronwyn Bishop and Sophie Panopoulos has been widely condemned by Muslim leaders and fellow politicians around Australia.
