Ashraf Shad’s new book ‘PeeliLakeer’ launched in Karachi
The collection of Ashraf Shad’s short stories, ‘PeeliLakeer’, was launched in Karachi by the Literary Committee of the Karachi Press Club. Dr. Anwar Sajjad, the famous writer and artist, was the Chief Guest while Farhad Zaidi, former Managing Director of Pakistan Television and former editor of many leading Pakistani dailies, presided over the function.
Those who spoke on the occasion and described the fine points of Ashraf’s writing were included Mehmood Sham, Pakistan’s prominent poet and journalist and former editor Jang, Shakeel Adelzadeh, former editor-publisher Sub Rang Digest,Mujahid Barelvi, famous TV anchor, Naqqash Kazmi, prominent poet, Akhlaq Ahmed, former editor Akhbar-e-Jahan, Najmul Hassan Rizvi, leading short story writer and Mushtaq Lashari the Labor Party leader from London.
The speakers were unanimous in their praise for Ashraf's unique style of writing, and his treatm subjects and his courage to expose political and social ills of the society. A large number of writers and journalists were among the audience.
