Australia & Pakistan agree for increase in defence cooperation
Pakistan and Australia agreed to explore ways to
increase defence cooperation particularly in the area of training for the
military personnel.
In a meeting of the visiting Australian Army Chief, Lt. General Peter Leahy with
Secretary Defence Lt. General (Retd) Tariq Waseem Ghazi, the two sides also
discussed matters of mutual interest. They also reviewed the general situation
in the region.
The Secretary Defence thanked the Australian Armed Forces for their support to
earthquake relief operations and appreciated the work of its personnel in the
field.
