Thank you very much for your query on Pakistan’s trade with Australia. It is heartening for me to note your interest in trade matters. In July June 2006/2007, Pakistan’s exports to Australia was A$ 151.2 million, around 5% more than last year. Since 2005/2006, the decreasing trend had reversed and adverse balance trade against Pakistan has been improving. We are striving for further increment  in Pakistan-Australia  bilateral trade and in promoting Pakistan as a good destination for Investment. The interest of the Community and your esteemed paper will definitely contribute in the process.

Regarding your query about resumption of Consular services and grant of passport, visa and other consular services by this Consulate in Sydney, as was announced by our High Commissioner on the auspicious occasion of celebrating our 60^th year of independence, this has been approved by the government, and the post has already been created,. We will resume this work as soon as the manpower and logistics is in place.
