The Benedict Barkat Foundation Fundraising dinner was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Newtown Sydney
The Benedict Barkat Foundation dinner was held on Saturday, May 7th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Newtown Sydney. This fundraising event, to support the children of St. Mary's Catholic Boarding School in Hafizabad Pakistan was a great success with more than 70 people in attendance and over $8,000 raised.
The keynote speaker was Father Yaqub Barkat who spoke about the children of St. Mary's Boarding School and their daily activities and in addition also about his life as a Catholic priest in Pakistan. A delicious Pakistani dinner was provided by the evening’s main sponsor Tandoori Hut Restaurant. A raffle was also held during the proceedings with prizes provided by various Newtown and Enmore businesses.
