Chand Raat is a multicultural Islamic celebration’s event. Chand Raat which means 'night of the moon ' marks the end of Ramadan and the start of Eid-ul-Fitr. Chand Raat Eid Festival (CREF) is a unique event in Australia which has been organised for the last 12 years.

The CREF enriches the experience of Eid Eve Celebrations (Chand Raat) in Australia along with now in Canada, United Sates and Europe. The event engages multicultural communities and broad Australians across New South Wales and stretching out to its greater boundaries.

The Festival presents exuberant cultural display of multicultural Australia and bringing our diverse community together to share their joys, happiness and friendship. It captures the optimistic spirit of the Eid Eve Celebrations, creating a welcoming and uniquely a year-waiting meeting occasion for the families. It is an open event for everyone without any religious or cultural boundaries.

The festival is an opportunity for families to get together, do Eid shopping and eat delicious foods from a variety of stalls. The community groups and individuals place variety of stalls containing clothes, jewellery, henna, bangles, shoes, food, toys and many other traditional items.
