Hon. Mr. David Borger Visits Muhammadi Welfare Centre in Granville

Hon. Mr. David Borger Minister for Roads and Minister for Western Sydney visited MWA centre in Granville on Friday the 30th of July on invitation by Mr. Qalbi Abbas Rana, President of the Muhammadi Welfare Association. He joined the MWA community and the guest speaker Shoukat Raza Shoukat from Pakistan specifically invited by the MWA, celebrating the events of Shabe Baraat and birthday of Imam e Zamanah (AS). A large number of community members with sub-continental origin across the Sydney attended the programme.President of the MWA welcomed the Hon. Minister and introduced him to the community.He also provided a brief overview of the activities MWA undertakes as a welfare and educational organisation.The Hon. Minister in his address informed the community of the development plans for the western Sydney areas, with special focus on Granville. He also promised his support for the development works at the MWA centre. He formally thanked Mr. Waseem Muhammad, whose efforts provided him a chance to address the Shia Muslim community of the electorate of Granville and beyond.A careful estimate shows that more than 2000 families of Shia Muslims with diverse lingual and cultural background dwell in Granville area (including 250 families with Urdu speaking background).
The community welcomed his visit to the Muslim centre, which would strengthen intercommunity relationships and will play a vital role in the further development of the country. The attendees applauded the development works in and around Granville area, and acknowledged the valued efforts of the current ALP regime for the development of infrastructure.They vowed to work together with the government in its whole-hearted efforts in ongoing development projects lead by Mr. Borger.
