Pakistan’s
High Officials delegation is visiting Australia

The Pakistan Administrative Staff College was established in November 1960. The
College was accommodated in the present building in Lahore, the former Punjab
Club, built in 1904. The first training course commenced on December 24, 1960
with an opening address by the then President, Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan.
The name of the course was changed from Advanced Course in Management
Development to its present name – National Management Course, in 1990.
The college was converted into National School of Public Policy through an
Ordinance promulgated on October 26, 2002 and Lt. Gen. ® Javed Hassan,
Principal, PASC was notified as Rector, NSPP.
The College apart from its regular program of National Management Course
conducted short courses & workshops of 1-5 weeks duration in areas of national
interest. All these courses have a technical content in the areas of Finance,
Management, Public Administration, Economic Policy, Economic Development, Macro
Economic Management, Financial Management and Social Policy. The College
organizes a high profile course called the National Management Course (NMC)
twice a year for senior civil servants (Joint Secretary Level). So far the
College has organized 88 National Management Courses.
Last week, the participants of the 88th National Management course came on the
official visit to Australia. Mr. Shafiq Hussain Bokhari of DMG group Directing
Staff College is the head of the delegation. Pakistani officers met Australian
high ranks civil servants & academics. They also attended briefing session with
local authorities and exchanged views of mutual interest. In Sydney, the Consul
General of Pakistan Mr. Azam Mohammed & in Canberra, the High Commissioner H.E.
Syed Jalil Abbas Jilani hosted a dinner in the honour of Pakistan’s
delegation. The delegation members are Brig. Muhamad Feyyaz, Capt. Muhammad Ali
Gardezi Secretary,Labour & Human Resource Development Department, Govt of
Punjab, Agha Sikandar Ali Deputy Director General, IB Balochistan, K.M. Zubair
Chief, (ENERCON) Ministry of Environment, Ms Tehmina Janjua DPR, Parepun Geneva,
Ministry of Foreign, Govt. of Pakistan, Imtiaz Ahmed Barakzai Commissioner of
Income Tax Karachi, Syed Moravet Ali Shah Deputy Inspector General of Police
Islamabad & Khalid Ahmad Khan Joint Secretary Ministry of Communication Govt of
Pakistan.
