Awareness & Fundraising Dinner - A Remarkable Success

Guest of the TDC Fundraising Dinner at Grand Royale Lounge Granville Sydney
On Saturday 5th October 2024, the Diabetes Awareness & Fundraising
Dinner was held at the Grand Royale Lounge, Granville
Sydney. The event was an overwhelming success, raising an impressive amount
of funds to support the construction of The Diabetes Centre (TDC) Sahiwal.
The evening began with a beautiful recitation of
the Holy Quran by Hafiz Mustafa Shahid,
followed by a warm welcome speech delivered by Hafiz Shahid Iqbal, President of
TDC Australia Sydney. Mr. Mustafa Chaudhry, Patron of TDC Australia, enlightened the
audience on the importance of charity in Islam and its impact on the community.
Dr. Asrar Khan, President of TDC Australia, provided an insightful overview of the TDC Australia’s ongoing
projects, focusing on the life-changing work being done for diabetes patients.
The highlight of the evening was a powerful awareness lecture by Prof. Jeremy
Chapman, who shared his expertise on Type-1 diabetes, pancreas/Islet cell
transplantation and future prospect of deceased solid organ transplant in
Pakistan, followed by an interactive Q&A session.
The event was honoured
by the presence of Senator David
Shoebridge and H.E. Zahid Hafeez
Chaudhri, High Commission for Pakistan, whose support added immense
value to the cause. Following the speeches, an exciting auction was conducted
by Mr. Hossin Goss, Mr. Hussein Salem, and Mr. Naeem Haq,
raising significant contributions for TDC.
Special thanks to Ms. Sana Zafar and Sayda
Fareeha for their participation and contributions throughout the evening. The
audience was then treated to a mesmerizing classical singing performance by
Ustad Khan Rafaqat Ali Khan, making the night even more memorable.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to the TDC Youth Team and our
incredible event organisers for their outstanding dedication and support in
making this event a tremendous success. The night concluded with the
distribution of certificates and a delightful dinner.
