Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar arrived on 4-days official
visit of Australia

Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis has reached Australia on his 4-days official visit.He arrived Sydney International Airport on Thursday, 17th May 2012 at 9:30pm. He was Welcome by Mr. Azam Mohammed, Consul general of Pakistan in Sydney.Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar will be Chief Guest of 6th anniversary of Rabitah International Grand Dinner Function on Friday,18 May 2012 at the Parra Villa Function Lounge, Parramatta Sydney.
Sydney Forex & Rabitah International management assigned grand dinner as "Thank you Australia" and Hon Kevin Rudd MP to recognize Australian Government outstanding support to Pakistan during 2010 floods. Pakistan's Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Farooq Sattar will present award to Former Australian Prime Minister Hon Kevin Rudd MP on behalf of Pakistan and Australian Pakistani Community.
During this
visit the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis will be calling on his
Australian counterpart to discuss matters relating to Overseas Pakistanis and
problems being faced by them.
The Minister Dr Farooq Sattar will also discuss to explore avenues creating more
horizons of employment opportunities for them. His visit will also cover the
areas of bilateral issues, political matters of both the countries during the
meetings arranged by their officials and Pakistani community.
Dr Muhammad Farooq Sattar will also brief Overseas Pakistanis working abroad
about the welfare schemes launched by the present government which include right
to vote, housing schemes (including Chattar Pari (AJK) & Lahore Raiwind Road
Phase-I), educational projects, Foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC),Smart-Card,
Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI) and Revival of Overseas Pakistanis
Pensioners’ Trust.

Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis; Dr.Farooq Sattar
Born in
Karachi, Sindh, on April 09,1959,Muhammad Farooq Sattar has been elected MNA
from Karachi.He is presently serving as the Leader of his parliamentary party in
the National Assembly.
A medical doctor by profession,he received his M.B.B.S degree from Sindh Medical
College in 1986. He was previously elected as MNA for the terms of 1988-1990 and
1990-1992; and as MPA Sindh Assembly for 1993-1996, and 1997-1998. He has also
served as Mayor Karachi from 1987 to 1992.
Married, he is the father of two daughters. His interests include reading books
and public welfare.
