Pakistan's Chief of Naval Staff Admiral
Noman Bashir is on official visit of Australia. He was appointed Chief of Naval
Staff (CNS) on 5 October 2008. His brother Mr.Salman Bashir is the current
Foreign Secretary of Pakistan. Last year, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Noman
Bashir was also came to the official tour of Australia and meet with various
Australian military and government officials to discuss opportunities for
continued coordination and cooperation between the Australia and Pakistan
Navies.
On Friday, 04th March 2011, the former President Pakistan Association of Australia Dr. Ali Sarfraz hosted a dinner in the honour of Admiral Noman Bashir & Mrs.Noman Bashir. The dinner was held at the resident of Dr. Sarfraz. The dinner was attended by members of the delegation, the Defence Advisor High Commission for Pakistan in Australia Brigadier Zahoor Ahmed, the Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Azam Mohammed, Hon. Chris Hayes MP, Federal Member for Fowler, Paul Gerard LYNCH MP, Minister for Industrial Relations & Commerce and Energy, Dr Andrew Dominic MCDONALD MP, Member for Macquarie Fields, Wendy Waller, Mayor Liverpool City Council Sydney. Members of Parliament, Famous Australian Politicians, Prominent members of Australian Pakistani Community and local media.
