Dr. Muhammad Yaseen
Australian Pakistani Dr. Yaseen appointed as Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority
The federal
government of Pakistan announced the appointment of Dr. Muhammad Yaseen as
Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. Dr Yaseen joined PTA board as
member technical in October 2006. He was living in south Sydney and working with
Advanced Networks and System Australia as Senior Consultant. Dr. Muhammad Yaseen is
a family friend of Raja Mohammad Aslam. He was a regular reader of Sada-e-Watan
Sydney and he also has Australian citizenship. The Editor-in- Chief of
Sada-e-Watan Sydney Zafar Hussain met Dr. Yaseen at Raja Aslam's house
Brighten-Le-Sands
and
various occasions - a thorough Gentleman & humble person!
Dr. Yaseen has 30 International and national publications on Telecom
technologies, ICT growth, Strategies and design of telecom networks. Raja
Mohammad Aslam, Sada-e-Watan Sydney and Shafqat Ali of PakOz would
like to congratulate Dr. Muhammad Yaseen on his new appointment as
Chairman PTA. We hope that the new chairman might be able to handle matters more
efficiently. It is good to see that a technical person will be leading the
important National organization. Perhaps it was time for a good change. He
should be adding a lot of value to the system during his regime Inshallah.
Dr. Muhammad Yaseen
Dr. Yaseen was Born
in Gujranwala Pakistan. He obtain his Bachelors of Electronics from Dawood
Engineering College Karachi. After graduating from DCET (NED), he achieved
Ministry of Science and Technology Scholarship in 1987 and completed his Ph.D.
in 1992, from University of Essex, England with specialization in
Telecommunication Systems. After his PhD, he worked for Essex University,
England, as Senior Research Officer PTCL Pakistan, as Director Strategy Alcatel
Submarine networks Australia as System and Project Engineer of Advanced Networks
and System Australia as Senior Consultant.
Dr. Yaseen was working in grade 21 with Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) as
Member Technical for the last almost three years. He has 30 International and
national publications on Telecom technologies, ICT growth, Strategies and design
of telecom networks. Dr. Yaseen has represented PTA at various International and
National forums including Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT), where he was elected
as Vice Chairman, APT, Study Group 2 (Networks).
