$4,300  Donation Presented to High Commissioner for Pakistan’s Earthquake Fund

The representatives of the Bazm-i-Adab Canberra  met with High Commissioner of Pakistan, Hon. Babar W. Malik. The meeting was arranged to donate a sum of $4,300 to the Pakistan High Commission for onward transfer to the Presidential Fund for Kashmir Earthquake Victims. This money was raised by the Bazm through a successful Fundraising Dinner that was arranged on 29 April in Canberra.
Talking to the Bazm representatives, after the money cheque had been presented to him by the Bazm's Vice President Mr Javed Butt, the High Commissioner Mr Babar W. Malik appreciated the efforts of the Bazm for this humanitarian cause. He also informed the current situation of the devastated areas and pointed that the process of rehabilitation was a long winded road and required a continued and concerted effort to reach the destination. Mr. Babar Malik further said that it was only through these gestures of fraternity and mutual help that we can make the dream of rehabilitation realised quicker.
