This year we gather again to celebrate in true friendship and faith, another Eid Milan at NSW Parliament, a tradition that was started here eight years ago by the Pakistan Association of Australia,Mr. Ejaz Khan, Mr Iftikhar Rana, Asif Mohamed, Kashif Amjad and others who had a role to play to make the event continue year after year.

For Muslims worldwide, Ramadan is the holiest month of the year. It is a precious opportunity for reflection, blessing and piety.

Eid ul-Fitr provides us with this opportunity to get together, reconnect and share in the dialogue, promoting peace goodwill, harmony and understanding between all Australians.

Ramadan & Eid ul-Fitr has become important event in the calendar of Australian religious observance.

It is up to us, up to you, to ensure that the message of peace, hope and prosperity continue to mark this important Islamic event.

We are all fortunate to live in this great nation of ours and we have the opportunities to celebrate Eid in such a great nation.

On this auspicious occasion of Eid ul-Fitr let us share the happiness but let’s not forget but feel the sadness of our less fortunate Brothers and Sisters around the world.

I am honoured to be here once again and join you in this celebration. I would like to especially take this opportunity to thank once again, outgoing President, Mr. Iftikhar Rana, and welcome the new President of the Pakistan Association of Australia, Mr. Shahid and all new office bearers of PAA.

Eid Mubarak once again and I hope you enjoy the rest of the evening.
And Finally, Pakistan Zindabad.
