Ejaz ul Haq Welcome John Howard in Islamabad The Australian Prime Minister John Howard arrived in Pakistan on Monday night for a three day visit. He was received at the airport by the Minister in waiting Ejaz ul Haq, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Zorica McCarthy, Mr. Babar W. Malik High Commissioner of Pakistan in Australia and other senior civil and Military officials. A formal welcome ceremony would be held Tuesday morning at the Prime Minister House. Meanwhile, Foreign Office spokesperson Ms Tasneem Aslam said on Monday that Pakistan and Australia would sign four agreements for cooperation in agriculture, education, gas and mining sectors during Australian Prime Minister John Howard’s visit to Islamabad beginning today. The agreements include agricultural linkages programme; scholarships award programme; gas sale/purchase agreement between Sui Southern and BHP of Australia and award of copper extraction license between Balochistan and an Australian company. The spokesperson said the three day official visit of the Australian Prime Minister aims at further strengthening bilateral relations in diverse fields. She said Australia has announced 10.6 million dollars contribution for earthquake relief operations in Pakistan.
