WILL AWARENESS DAY - Free Seminar at the Ethnic Communities Council of NSW

In support of the 2011 Will Awareness Day, an initiative of the Law Society of NSW, and also with the assistance of the City of Sydney Law Society, the Ethnic Communities Council of NSW is very pleased to invite you to a Seminar offering free up to date legal information on making a Will and other Estate Planning matters.

 Mr. Jeremy Glass, Solicitor, Legal Practitioner Director of Glass Goodwin will give a talk for approximately 40 minutes and will then answer questions for a reasonable time after that.

Mr. Jeremy Glass is a Senior Solicitor of thirty four years standing and practises primarily in Wills and Estates Law. He is an Accredited Specialist in this area. Currently he is on the Elder Law and Succession  Committee of the Law Society.

 This is a valuable opportunity for members to learn answers to many questions, for example:

·       What is a Will, do I need one and what are the contents of a Will?

·       How do I make a valid Will?

·       What happens if I do not get it right?

·       Can a Will be challenged?

·       What happens if I do not make a Will?

·       Is a Will made in my country of origin valid in Australia?

·       Can I appoint a guardian for my minor children?

·       Recent changes in the Law regarding wills and Intestacy

·       Usefulness of a Power of Attorney, etc.

 All ECC member communities are encouraged to attend.  This includes spouses and children over the age of 18 years. Member organisations are also requested to bring this information to the notice of all their constituent individual members as soon as possible.
