Deputy Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan Faisal Karim Kundi will Chief Guest at PAA Pakistan Day Function in Sydney

Pakistan Association of Australia will host a grand function to celebrate Pakistan Day on Saturday, 27 March 2010 at Hurstville Entertainment Centre, Macmahon Street Hurstville Sydney. H.E. Fauzia Nasreen High Commissioner of Pakistan & Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan will be the Chief Guest. Mr Faisal Karim Kundi will arrive in Sydney on 26th March and he will stay in Australia for one week. Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi is elected Member of National Assembly on PPP ticket from Dera Ismail Khan and he is the youngest Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan.

Faisal Karim Kundi (born on January 1, 1975) was elected Deputy Speaker, National Assembly of Pakistan on 19 March 2008. He had been elected as the youngest Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi comes from a well known political and agriculturist family of the North West Frontier Province, Pakistan. Born in 1975 in Dera Ismail Khan, he graduated from Thames Valley University in London. He contested the election for NA-24 against Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in February elections 2008 and got 85000 votes with a victory of 40,000 votes.

Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi had served the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as divisional coordinator in Dera Ismail Khan. His father Mr Fazal Karim Kundi had defeated Maulana Fazal-ur Rehman in 1990 on PPP ticket. His maternal grandfather, Justice (Retd) Faizulllah Khan Kundi served as Federal Minister with Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.Faisal Karim Kundi’s great grandfather Barrister Abdul Rahim Kundi was the first deputy speaker of the NWFP Assembly. Faisal Karim Kundi is coming first time in Australia.
