The Deputy Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi has arrived on official tour of Australia.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan H.E. Fauzia Nasreen informed by Telephone to Editor-in-Chief of Sada-e-Watan that Mr.Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan has arrived on 4 days official visit of Australia. He is visiting Canberra & Sydney. Mr.Faisal Karim Kundi is elected Member of National Assembly on PPP ticket from Dera Ismail Khan and he is the youngest Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan. In the history of Pakistan, Faisal Karim Kundi is the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan who is visiting Australia. On the Behalf of Australian Pakistani Community, Sada-e-Watan would like to welcome him in Australia.

On the evening of Tuesday 25 May 2010, Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly visits Australian National University Canberra. He was guest Speaker at Haydon-Allen Lecture Theatre (The Tank) Building 23, ANU. Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi speaks in Seminar on the topic of Challenges to democracy in Pakistan: Government, military and the rise of Islamism?. According to the coordinator of Seminar Ms. Sonia Padrun, a large number of uni students, civil servants, diplomats and community members of different nationalities attended seminar and appreciated the speech of Chief Guest Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan.

Faisal Karim Kundi

Faisal Karim Kundi (born on January 1, 1975) was elected Deputy Speaker, National Assembly of Pakistan on 19 March 2008. He had been elected as the youngest Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi comes from a well known political and agriculturist family of the North West Frontier Province, Pakistan. Born in 1975 in Dera Ismail Khan, he graduated from Thames Valley University in London. He contested the election for NA-24 against Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in February elections 2008 and got 85000 votes with a victory of 40,000 votes.

Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi had served the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as divisional coordinator in Dera Ismail Khan. His father Mr Fazal Karim Kundi had defeated Maulana Fazal-ur Rehman in 1990 on PPP ticket. His maternal grandfather, Justice (Retd) Faizulllah Khan Kundi served as Federal Minister with Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.Faisal Karim Kundi’s great grandfather Barrister Abdul Rahim Kundi was the first deputy speaker of the NWFP Assembly.
