President to lay
foundation of new Islamabad Airport on Sept 6

ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 : President General Pervez Musharraf will formally lay down the foundation stone of new Islamabad International Airport near Fateh-Jang on September 6. Defence Ministry's sources told Online that summary of the construction of new Islamabad International Airport has been forwarded to President to this effect. They noted that new Islamabad Airport would be constructed as per with international standard Rs 17 billion is the estimated cost of the project (airport construction) to be accomplished in five years, sources maintained. They said that the government would bear all expenses of the project. Sources observed civil aviation authority had increased airport tax a few days earlier to cover the cost of the project of the construction of the airport. They said that services of foreign engineers have also been hired for preparing the design and structure of the airport. |
