Pakistani Women’s Cricketers Coming to Australia Tour

The 9th ICC Women's Cricket World Cup will be held in Australia from 7th to 22nd March 2009.Teams from New Zealand, Australia, England, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies will compete. Six grounds will be used for the tournament in Sydney, Canberra, Bowral and Newcastle.
The teams will form two groups, Group A comprising reigning champions Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies with India, England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka making up Group B.The top three sides in each group will then progress to the Super Six stage before the top two sides in the Super Six meet in the final, to be held at North Sydney Oval, on 22nd March.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its 15-player squad to Australia for the ICC Women’s World Cup. The full squad is: Urooj Mumtaz Khan – Captain, Sana Mir- Vice-Captain, Bismah Maroof, Nain Abidi, Sajida Shah, Javeria Khan, Arman Khan, Batool Fatima, Nahida Khan, Almas Akram, Asmavia Iqbal, Sania Khan, Qanita Jalil , Sukhan Faiz & Naila Nazir .
Asmavia Iqbal, Sukhan Faiz, and Sanea Khan are belong to the Multan. Sada-e-Watan Sydney and Australian Pakistani Community hope that these players will give sterling performance in the Women’s World Cup in Australia and do their country proud.
