SYDNEY
To commemorate the
National Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Chancery
premises of the High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra at 0900 hours on 23 March
2007. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Pakistanis with their
families.
After hoisting the flag, the High Commissioner Mr. Babar W. Malik read out the
message of the President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf and the Deputy
High Commissioner MR. Tanveer A. Khaskheli read out the message of the Prime
Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz and briefly highlighted the importance of the
day emphasizing to the community members to forge unity and work harder for
promoting Pakistan’s image abroad.
The Canberra Times also carried a supplement on Pakistan in its issue of 23
March 2007.
