Syed Ghazanfar Abbas of Multan Proposed the Name of Youm e Takbeer
Syed Ghazanfar Abbas a civil engineer by profession and a member of a leading Multan Agriculturist family,
proposed the name “Youm e Takbeer,” of the 28 May, 1998, the historic Day, when Pakistan to counter the Indian nuclear threats ,detonated a nuclear device for its defence .
In a Nationwide competition , announced by the Government of Pakistan, Syed Ghazanfar Abbas , most appropriately coined the name of the
Occasion, as a “YOUM e TAKBEER”.
The then Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif conferred a Certificate Award of recognition to the late Syed Ghazanfar Abbas.
Like, the historic occasion of the Youm e Takbeer, name of Syed Ghazanfar Abbas will always be remembered in Pakistan’s history. father Syed Ghazanfar Abbas was father of Ambassador (R) Syed Ibne Abbas.
