Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani has arrives in Australia
The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has arrives in Sydney on the early morning of Tuesday 06 July 2010.General Kayani is on a five day official visit to Australia. He is visiting with top level Military delegation on the special invitation of the Australian Chief of Defence Staff. From Sydney he flies soon to Canberra where General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is scheduled to meet with senior Defence & Military leadership of Australia and discussed the matters of professional & mutual interest.
General Kayani will also co-chair a Security Dialogue being held between the Pakistan & Australia. Pakistan valued its defence and security ties with Australia. The Government of Pakistan acknowledged the contributions of Australian Armed Forces in striving to bring stability in Afghanistan and the region. The Govt of Pakistan also thanks Australia for its continued support to Pakistan in dealing with its security challenges and commended the exponential progress made in bilateral defence ties in recent years.
