Pakistan’s Flood Relief Fund Raising Dinner at Turkish Restaurant Canberra

Mr. Ridvan Karim, a Turkish National may be the owner of a relatively small size takeaway “Has Turkish Restaurant” in Civic, Canberra, but, he certainly possesses a heart larger than life. Rekindling the traditional love and affection and Turkey, which dates back to Khalafat Movement in 1920s, this Turkish brother opened his heart for the victims of unprecedented floods in Pakistan. He announced to prepare a special Iftar dinner for the Muslim community in Canberra on the first day of holy month of Ramadan and donate all its proceeds to Prime Minister of Pakistan’s Flood Relief Fund 2010. He extended an open invitation to visit his restaurant and “eat as much as you can “for only A$10/- to support their Pakistani brothers and sisters.

The fund raiser was a great success as a large number of members of Pakistan community attended the Iftar dinner and donated generously for the cause. The participants greatly appreciated the kind gesture of Mr. Ridvan Sadik and thanked his family and workers for their generous hospitality.
