(Passed away on 26 December 2008 around 10:30 pm at Penrith, NSW)
Dear Brothers & Sisters in Islam, friends & relatives
Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahe Wabarakatahu
On Sunday, 11th January 2009, at Rooty Hill Mosque the recitation of
Quraan-e-Karim was organised by Mohammed Obeidullah and family for
Doya-e-Mughfirat to all who passed away and especially to his father Marhoom
Habibullah.
I thought as a member of Rooty Hill Islamic Centre, outline Marhoom Habibullah
few services to the humanity and his brief background as per his son Mohammed
Nasrullah email from USA.
In view to create goodwill within the community I consider all good deeds
witnessed of everyone need to be acknowledged.
As I had observed during our association in NSW, Marhoom Habibullah was:
• A person who offered his Islamic services purely on volunteer basis;
• Dedicated to adopt Islam as a whole in his life-style;
• Simple person who had not compromised Islamic principles;
• Never interested in position, wealth or fame;
• Honest and would rather help others;
• Very interested to teach children the rights & wrongs in life;
• Always keen to study Islamic history and literature;
• Quite fond of watching Cricket even it happened late at night;
• Interested in Urdu poetry and cooking Indian & Pakistani gourmet dishes;
• Proactive to publish & promote the Quran Karim’s Tafseer to family with
children;
• Instrumental in forming the Ruete Helal Committee at Rooty Hill Mosque;
• Strict in food with all Halal ingredients and would never go to any Restaurant
to eat;
• Meticulously a good organiser, demonstrator and punctual on appointments.
A brief history of Habibullah Saheb: (As per extract from his son Mohammed Nasrullah’s Email from USA)
My father Mohammed K.
Habibullah was born in Karimnagar, India in 1920. He earned his BA in
mathematics from Osmania University.
Besides spending time with his family, My father was very active in religious
teaching and furthering the education of the Muslim community everywhere he
resided. He was a great religious teacher of Islam. He often led the Jummah
(Friday) congregational prayers as well as the Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan.
In addition, he found time to read Urdu poetry, wrote poems in Urdu for special
occasions, cook traditional dishes and make kites for his grandchildren. He was
an avid fan of cricket and followed all-important local as well as international
games very closely.
My father passed away on December 26, 2008 at Mountain View Nursing Home in
Penrith in presence of my elder brother Dr. Mohammed Obeidullah and family and
myself. My father’s two younger brothers, two sisters, seven children, two
daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren
and a multitude of friends survive him. We all will miss him dearly.
Mohammed Nasrullah
Waasalam
