First Pakistani Diplomat Hamid Asghar who attended Celebration of Pakistan Day in Macarthur

Campbelltown Community celebrated Qarardaad-e-Pakistan on Sunday, 21st March 2010 at a local community Hall. The chief guest was Mr Hamid Asghar Counsellor of Pakistan Consulate Sydney. It was the first time in history that any Pakistani Diplomat attended the Function at the Campbelltown NSW.

Mr. Hamid Asghar addressed the community on Qarardaad-e-Pakistan and also described the facilities available at the Consulate office Sydney for the Pakistani community. The function was attended by a large number of local families and was highly successful in bring the community closer. The function was also attended by Muhammad Asif CEO Citilink Finance, Rana Zahid Former President Pakistan Association of Australia, and Syed Zafar Hussain, Chief Editor Sada-e- Watan Sydney.

The celebration started off the evening with a welcome speech presented by DR A.G Khan.A couple of slideshows about qarardaad-e-Pakistan made by Afshar Tariq presented ,then beautiful and colourful children performances, Mr. Tariq said thanks to Honouble Guest and the community and told that about lot of function held this community but this was one of the best.
Mr. Hamid Asghar at the end presented prizes /awards to children and community leaders including Mr Qamar Shakil, a visiting scientist from Pakistan for their input in the community efforts.

To express their unity, the community held Namaz-e-Janaza prayer for the mother of Mr Tasawar Khan Deputy High Commissioner for Pakistan. This was a one-dish party and the brought food in were shared in a buffet style. Particular reference is made to the efforts of Mr & Mrs Tariq & Mr and Mrs A.G. Khan.
