The Australian Islamic
College of Sydney situated in Rooty Hill Sydney began its humble beginnings on
17th May 1997 with around 30 Students and a small Demountable classroom. Today
AIC have a thriving institution with 700 Students, around 50 dedicated Staff
members and a track record of achievements.
On the 10th Anniversary in 2007, college had achieved a milestone of $10 Million
Dollars in construction, with 41 Classrooms, 140 Workstations, Library,
Administration Building, Hall and Gymnasium facilities. Australian Islamic
College of Sydney have come a long way since that $10,000 demountable classroom
to a $10 Million Dollar structure, thanks primarily to the leadership and
financial backing of Chairman of the Board Dr G A. Khan. The AICS presents a
unique opportunity as it is situated on premises with the most modern Mosque
facility available for the Muslim Community in NSW.
On Saturday 2nd August 2008 the Australian Islamic College of Sydney arranged a
HARMONY EVENING. The official programme started from Quran Recitation &
translation. After this, the Australian National Anthem was presented by young
kids. First presentation was by the students of Cranbrook School, 2nd
presentation was Penrith School, third presentation was from Caroline Chisholm
College, fourth was by Clare Catholic High School and fifth presentation was
from the Australian Islamic College of Sydney. Before closing Dua & dinner H.E.
Syed Jalil Abbas Jilani, High Commissioner of Pakistan addressed the audience
and explained the Islamic rules of law. He explained that Islam never encourages
terrorist activities for any Muslim or non Muslims.
