Australia V Pakistan is continuing at Sydney Cricket Ground. The Match is in Progress on Tuesday 5th Jan, day 3 of the SCG Test. Pakistan tightened their grip on the second Test and Pakistan has a commanding lead in the second Test at the SCG. Australia was clinging to life in the second Test, after a late batting collapse restricted Pakistan's first innings lead to 204 runs at stumps on the second day at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Pakistan attack crushes Australia and young bowlers send Ducks in a row.
PAKISTAN is poised to win the second Test against Australia and level the three-match series, after the home team struggled to build a defendable total in its second innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground today. At stumps, the Australians had tallied 8-286 with only two wickets in hand, a lead of just 80 runs. Australia are hurtling towards a heavy defeat in the second Test against Pakistan at the SCG, with Danish Kaneria reducing the hosts to 8-286 at stumps on day three, a lead of just 80.Kaneria and Umar Gul have ripped through the Aussie middle order to leave them on the verge of levelling the series at 1-1.
Pakistani legspinner Danish Kaneria, who missed the first Test with a finger injury, was the chief destroyer on the day three pitch, taking four wickets before he was overcome by cramp late in the day after bowling the best part of 33 overs. He was assisted from the field 15 minutes before the end of play.
Earlier, dynamic opening batsman Shane Watson has been dismissed within sight of
a century for the fourth consecutive Test match, falling for 97.
Today was been declared Jane McGrath Day at the SCG in honour of retired fast
bowling great Glenn McGrath's late wife, and the foundation they established to
fight breast cancer. The historic Ladies Stand has been temporarily renamed the
"Jane McGrath Stand" and much of the crowd have donned pink shirts and bandannas
to support the cause.
