HC Fauzia Nasreen host a dinner in the Honour of the General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani
Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is currently on a 5 days official visit to Australia. He was accorded a warm welcome when he arrived in Canberra on Tuesday morning. COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was received at the airport by top level officials of the Australia’s Ministry of Defence. Pakistan's High Commissioner Fauzia Nasreen and senior officials of Pakistan High Commission were also present to welcome General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
On Tuesday 6 July, the High Commissioner Fauzia Nasreen host a dinner in the Honour of the Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani Sahib. General Kayani has a busy official agenda from Wed 07 July. The COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will have talks with senior Defence & Military leadership of Australia. He will exchange views on security situation especially in Afghanistan and South Asian region, progress of anti militancy operations, defence collaboration and other matters of mutual interest.
General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will also co-chair a Security Dialogue being held between the Australia & Pakistan. In May 2010, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) upon Australian Chief of Defence Air Chief Marshal Allen Grant (Angus) Houston in recognition of his contribution in promoting mutual goodwill between the two armed forces and Australian. Last month Defence Minister of Australia Senator John Faulkner officially visits Pakistan which was First visit to Pakistan by an Australian Defence Minister.
