New High Commissioner of Pakistan Syed Jalil Abbas Jillani has arrived in Australia

According to the notification Govt of Pakistan, Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani has been appointed Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia. Presently serving as Director General at the Headquarters since February 2003. Syed Jalil Abbas Jilani holds a Bachelors degree in Law, and Masters degree in Defence and Strategic Studies.
Mr. Jilani joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in March 1979 and served at the Headquarters as Section Officer (1981-1982) and Director (1992-1995). He served as Deputy Secretary at Prime Minister’s Secretariat (1982-1992) and held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan’s Mission abroad including Jeddah (1983-1985), London (1985-1988), Washington (1995-1999) and New Delhi (1999-2003). Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani also served as spokesman at the Headquarters from February to August 2005. He is married with three children.
