Federal Minister Humayun Akhtar is coming to Australia
Federal Minister of Commerce Mr. Humayun Akhtar Khan will be
head of the delegation for Australia to attend the Cairns group meeting in
Cairns. According to sources of Sada-e-Watan
Mr. Humayun Akhtar would represent Pakistan at the meeting scheduled for
September 20-22 in Australia to be attended by ministers from 18 farm exporting
countries.
This year, the Cairns Group of agricultural exporting nations celebrates 20
years of concentrated efforts to liberalize trade in agriculture.
The 20th Anniversary Ministerial Meeting of the Cairns Group will be held in
Cairns, Australia from 20-22 September 2006. This meeting will provide an
important opportunity for Cairns Group Ministers to maintain momentum in the
Group's efforts to finalize the Doha Round agriculture negotiations. Cairns
Group Farm Leaders are also planning to meet in Cairns in the lead-up to the
ministerial meeting.
