PAA Condoles Loss of Human Lives in Indonesian Quake
SYDNEY: President Pakistan
Australia Association (PAA) Ejaz Khan has expressed deep sorrow and grief over
the loss of precious human lives property in the recent earthquake in Indonesia.
As many as 5500 people died while 20,000 others were injured in the recent
earthquake which hit the Indonesian city of Yogyakarta. Around 200,000 people
are believed to be misplaced as a result of the earthquake. In a press release
issued here Ejaz Khan said that whole Australian Pakistani community stood by
the people and government of Indonesia at that critical juncture. “We here in
Australia would do our best to help the people of neighbouring country during
this difficult period,” the PAA president said.
He appealed to the Pakistani community to donate generously to the charity
organizations working for the rehabilitation of earthquake victims. The PAA
president said that he and his whole team would make every effort to collect as
many donations as they could to help the earthquake victims.
The PAA president contacted with Indonesian Consul General herein on Wednesday
and offer condolences on behalf of the Australian Pakistani community. He also
offered 10 boxes of medicine and medical equipments and 4 boxes of new cloths
initially bound for the victims of Pakistani earthquake to our brothers and
sisters.
