UWS: Prof Jamal Badawi Lecture in Sydney

Muslim Socio-Political Participation in a Pluralistic Setting:

an Islamic Perspective

Renowned Muslim scholar and international speaker Professor Jamal Badawi is visiting Australia from Canada to speak at the International Conference for Peace & Harmony at Darling Harbour in early October. We are delighted that Professor Badawi has accepted our invitation to speak on issues that Muslims face in societies such as ours, and invite you to attend.

A professor of management at the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Imam of the Muslim Community in Halifax, Professor Badawi has been involved in Islamic education in North America since 1963. Author of several works on Islam, Professor Badawi has also researched, designed and presented a 352-segment television series on Islam which aired on many Canadian, American and international TV stations. Copies of these programs continue to be used in many countries. Professor Badawi is the Director of the Halifax-based Islamic Information Foundation, a non-profit educational foundation with the objective of informing and educating Muslims and non-Muslims about Islam and participates in many lectures, seminars and interfaith dialogues in North America.
