Pakistani Delegation meets with Australian members of Parliament
(Excusive Report to Sada-e-Watan by High Commission of Pakistan Canberra)
Last week the delegation of Pakistan’s
Kashmir Committee led by Chairman Chaudhry Hamid Nasir Chattha met with the
different important Parliamentarians in Canberra and raised the awareness of the
Kashmir issue. The delegation included Senator Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Senator Dr
Abdul Malik Baloch, Mr Munir Khan Orakzai MNA & Mr Shah Abdul Aziz MNA. The High
Commissioner of Pakistan Mr. Babar W. Malik was present during the meetings.
Chairman Special Committee of the Parliament on Kashmir, Hamid Nasir Chattha
said resolution of Kashmir problem was necessary for peace and prosperity in the
region and international community should put pressure on India to resolve the
Kashmir dispute. He expressed these views while talking to Australian MP’s at
the Parliament House.
Ch. Hamid Nasir Chattha said peaceful resolution of Kashmir problem was in the
interest of India, Pakistan, Kashmiris and the World Community. The Chairman
said Kashmir dispute was the core issue between India and Pakistan that must be
resolved according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir.
Mr. Chattha said for success of the composite dialogue between India and
Pakistan, inclusion of Kashmiri leadership in the peace process was necessary
and added Kashmir was not a territorial problem but a problem of human rights.
He said the presence of more than 0.6 million Indian armed forces personnel in
Kashmir is the evidence of repression and oppression by India in Kashmir.
Hamid Nasir Chattha urged the international community to exert their influence
for early resolution of the Kashmir problem.
The Pakistani delegation also met with Pakistani community in Canberra and
attended a reception at Kashmir Restaurant Canberra.
