Allama Maqbool Hussain Alavi who studied Quran, Hadis ,Fiqah and Islamic jurisprudence for 5 years in Pakistan and 6 years in Qum, lives and preaches in Peterborough (UK) for a long period of time. He has served the Khoja Jamat for 9 years in Peterborough and is still serving around.

He was invited by Muhammadi Welfare Association Inc as the visiting scholar in 2000, 2005, 2008 and now in 2012.This time he delivered 10 speeches from14th to 23^rd January, 2012 at the Centre of MWA at 419 Blaxcell Street Granville Sydney.His first Majlis was held on the 13^th of January at Sada-e-Watan House in Macquarie Fields Sydney. The topic of his 11 speeches was the sacrifice of Zainib-e- Kubrah in Karbala. He referred back to the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim who had a dream that Allah wanted him to sacrifice the thing which was dearest to him. He thus intended to sacrifice his dearest son Ismaeil. Allah saved his life and deferred the sacrifice to a later day which Quran called as ZABA-E-AZEEM.

Allama Alavi went into detail about the sacrifices of other Prophets and righteous people who were tested and their status was exultedby Allah Almighty because they came out successful. He particularly mentioned the sacrifice given by the household of Prophet Muhammad (MPBUH). He said that the sacrifice at the battle of Karbala was quite unique in many ways. Not only were the men butchered hungry and thirsty mercilessly but Ali Asghar, 6 months infant son of Immam Hussain (ES) was killed on the hands of his father Hussain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet. After all the men were killed except Immam Zainul Abadeen and Immam Baquer, his son of 5 years old, the ladies were made captives and were taken with humiliation to Kufa and Sham (Syria)

Allam Alavi discussed in detail the uniqueness of the sacrifice of Zainib – e- Kubra, the granddaughter of the Prophet. She propagated and accomplished the mission of piety and righteousness started by his dear brother Hussain (ES).

The sacrifice of Immam Hussain (ES) would have been camouflaged by the then despotic rulers, had it not made known to public by the unique and the most courageous sister of the great Immam on the way from Karbal to Kufa and then to Sham(Syria) and finally her unparalleled sermons in the court of Yazid.

The scholar concluded that the important episodes of the Islamic history are not only to remember and lament upon but it is incumbent on us to put into practice the golden rules of a purified life set forth by the Prophets, the Immams and the virtuous household of our Prophet (MPBUH)
