                MAYOR PARRAMATTA DONATES $5000 FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

SYDNEY: Lord Mayor Parramatta David Borger has announced a donation of $5000 for the earthquake victims in Pakistan. The Lord Mayor announced the donation following a meeting with President Pakistan Australia Association (PAA) Ejaz Khan here recently.

The October 8 earthquake caused a large-scale devastation in the northern areas of Pakistan. According to latest reports more than 50000 people have lost their lives and around 75000 injured in the disaster. Around 3 million people have become homeless as the result of the earthquake. President Pakistan Australia Association (PAA) Ejaz Khan in a statement issued here has appreciated the generous gesture of the Parramatta council and has thanked the Mayor for the donation. It’s to be mentioned here that the council approved the donation after a motion to that effect was passed overwhelmingly.
