30,000 attended Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair at Fairfield Showground Sydney

The 27th Annual Multicultural Eid Festival and Fair was held at Fairfield Showground on Sunday 4th Sept 2011 from 10am - 7pm.This year More than 30 000 people attended.Dozens of stalls, rides and food outlets catered to the many tastes of the multicultural audience.
Federal Member for McMahon Hon.Chris Bowen MP Federal Minister for Immigration and Citizenship was Chief Guest.First Muslim federal member of Parliament Mr.Ed.Husic MP,Mr Stepan Kerkyasharin Chairman Community Relations Commission of NSW,Chief Patron MEFF Dr. Qazi Ashfaq Ahmad, President MEFF Mr.Usaid Khalil and other dignities speak at the fair.
Muslims from over 100 different ethnic backgrounds were entertained by Muslim and non-Muslim performers. On the way guests including Former Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs Federal Member of for Werriwa Mr.Laurie Ferguson, Hon.Voltz, Lynda MLC and others.The afternoon events included a performance of the "99 names of Allah".
There was 470 Stalls selling Food, Clothing, Books, Toys and a Variety of Gifts. At the event, there were over 20 entertaining Rides for all ages. AMU Alumni of Australia, SBS Urdu Service and a few other important organizations were also present on the day.
