The Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney Mr.
Qamar Zaman hosted a dinner in the honour of Hon. Ali Pervaiz Malik, Federal Minister
of Energy, Government of Pakistan. The event was attended by His Excellency
Irfan Shaukat, along with members of the Pakistani community residing in New
South Wales. This Welcome event was held at the Himalya Function Centre,
Granvill Sydney on Thursday, 23rd October 2025.
During the evening, Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik
took the opportunity to engage directly with members of the diaspora. He
provided an insightful overview of the present government’s reforms agenda,
highlighting the steps taken to stabilise the economy. The Minister emphasised
the significant role played by overseas Pakistanis in the progress and
development of Pakistan, acknowledging both their contributions and their
ongoing commitment to the Nation.

The Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik also addressed
various concerns raised by the community and welcomed their suggestions,
fostering an open and productive dialogue aimed at further strengthening ties
between Pakistan and its overseas citizens.
This dinner also marked the first official
interaction of His Excellency Irfan Shaukat with the diaspora since assuming
the office of the High Commissioner. H.E. Irfan Shaukat took the occasion to
express his appreciation for the contributions made by the Pakistani community
in Australia. He also outlined his plans to engage with the community in
greater detail in the coming days, reinforcing his commitment to building
strong and meaningful relationships.
Both Mrs Muniba and the Consul General are
grateful for the large turnout from the Pakistani community. Their enthusiastic
presence contributed to making the evening a memorable and wonderful occasion,
reflecting the unity and vibrancy of the diaspora in New South Wales.
