Maulana Mirza Mohammad Athar
Maulana Mirza Mohammad Athar is a Zakir-e-Ahl-e-Bayt from Lucknow, India. He is
the Son of a very learned and popular speaker, the late Mulla Mirza Mohammad
Tahir. Mirza Athar was educated at Sultan-ul-Madaris where he graduated with "Sadr-ul-Afazil"
and Lucknow University where he obtained a masters in Persian Literature. In
2008, he completed fifty years of continuous Muharram recitation in Mumbai. In
addition to his native Lucknow, he is popular all over India as well as in
Pakistan, the Middle East, UK, US and Australia.
On January 23, 2008, he was elected first president of All India Shia Personal
Law Board. He is an eloquent speaker, a wise conversationalist and a lover of
Ahle Bayt. A modern Maulana who speaks for the Muslim youth and their progress.
His brilliance is his simplicity; how he manages to break down difficult
concepts and explain them with ease. He speaks on Muslims womens' rights and is
dead against the disease called ignorance.
