“MY KARACHI” exhibition
organized by Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry was definitely an excellent
opportunity for Australian companies of promotion and exposure by display and
sale to thousands of visitors and consumers.
This was stated by Zorica Mccarthy, High Commissioner of Australia in a meeting
with a three member delegation of KCCI in Islamabad. The High Commissioner said
that she contacted the Country Manager Australian Trade Commission in Karachi,
and he is glad from the positive results from this exhibition and believes the My Karachi exhibition 2007 was ideal for Australian businessmen.
The KCCI delegation
added that according to a rough estimate, the three days attendance crossed
450,000 which is a record as no event in the history of Pakistan has ever
achieved such large numbers. They said that the Chamber had maintained that
security would be superficial and primarily for discipline purpose only. He said
that with the Blessing of Almighty Allah no law and order problem, no untoward
incident, nor any uncivil activity was evident. This goes to prove that the
Karachi citizens are capable of handling themselves and maintaining self
discipline.
The three members delegation of Karachi chamber finally said “the people of
Karachi and KCCI have together made Karachi what it really is. A City of Peace,
a City to Invest, Work, and Live, and a City of Lights. This is the real Karachi
and the 4th My Karachi exhibition did just that. The message has been clearly
sent all over the globe. Karachi is Karachi again”.
