Pakistan Australia Association Appreciation Dinner at Ryde Civic Centre

SYDNEY: Pakistan Australia Association (PAA) has honoured the individuals and organizations that made contributions towards association’s Asian Earthquake Appeal here at special ceremony.

The ceremony which was held here in Civic Centre Top Ryde last Saturday was attended by Honourable Julie Owen MP for Parramatta, Mr Ejaz Ahmed Consul General Pakistan, Mr Mohammad Asif General Manger Habib Finance Australia, Syed Zafar Hussain from Sada-e-Watan, Director  Muslim Radio and his delegation , Jenat Cameron and Jenice National Director of world Vision ,Dr Orakondi President United Indian Association, Mr Ghambir Watt President Bhavan Australia , Mr Hudson Chen President Australian Chinese Charity Foundation Mr Benjamin Chow Chairman Australian Government Council for Multicultural Australia, Dr Sidhu ,Mr Prabjot Singh, Moninder Singh and Rajwant Singh from Punjabi Council of Australia. John Fowler from Uniting Church Turramarra, Mr Dawood Siddiqi, Mr Bashir Attai from Afghan Council of Australia, Faten Dana President Muslim Women's Welfare of Australia  and Sew Lee, national Manager Multicultural Banking Westpac Bank.

Ms Linda Bernie NSW MP represented Premier New South Wales and received a Shield on behalf of the NSW Parliament Asia Pacific Friendship Group who has donated $100,000.00 to earthquake victims. The Chairperson Currambena Primary & Pre School Jenny Williams presented a cheque for $2,000.00 to PAA’S earthquake appeal. President PAA Ejaz Khan, Julie Owen and Ejaz Ahmed Counsel General Pakistan presented shields to the individuals and organizations that donated to the earthquake fund and offered their services voluntarily in various donation collection activities.

“We’ve gathered here tonight to pay tributes and to recognise the services of all those who donated their time, money and material goods to help the earthquake victims in Asia.” Ejaz Khan said. He thanked all those involved in that noble cause and hoped that they would keep on exhibiting the same sense of unity, goodwill, charity and selflessness in future too. The ceremony was followed by Music by local artists and dinner prepared and served by Ustad Mushtaq from Himalaya Indian and Pakistani Restaurant Five Dock Sydney.
