PAA President Meet with the Premier of NSW
President of Pakistan Australia Association Mr. Ejaz Khan called on Premier NSW Moris Iemma on 14 October 2005 and ask his help for the victims of Pakistani earthquake . Ejaz said that his Association will do what ever possible to help our dear brothers and sisters lost their lives in the earthquake. He said that he is planing to help the victims and survivors in two phases. In phase one his association has collected blankets, tenets, and sleeping bags for the survivors, A container full of relief goods has been on the way to Karachi Pakistan. He said we are working closely with western suburbs Islamic Association to fill and pack the containers. 2nd container will arrive today in Rooty Hill mosque and would be packed in few days. 3rd container is arriving in his house in Northmead tomorrow and the left over will be put into this container. He added that world vision is helping us in transportation the donations from inter state to Sydney free of costs. He thanks the Australian community for overwhelming response to his appeal for donations particularly Muslim community Radio who donated $12,000 cash and a truck loaded with relief goods.
